Reconcile the physical inventory

Compare the platform with vehicles, equipment, and sensor locations that still exist. Resolve sold assets, renamed rooms, replacement devices, and undocumented moves. Confirm which object each tracker follows and which condition each sensor measures.

Review the decisions the system supports

Ask users which information they relied on and which alerts they ignored. A change in routes, staff, operating hours, or storage can justify new settings. Keep a record of why a reporting interval or alert rule changes so future comparisons have context.

Check ownership and service needs

Review user accounts, notification recipients, battery servicing, gateway connectivity, and support contacts. Confirm that someone still owns the inventory and that a backup responder can use the platform. Include the treatment of downloaded reports in the access review.

Test a few representative workflows

Choose a normal vehicle trip, an equipment handoff, or a sensor alert as appropriate to your setup. Verify the full path from device to the person taking action. Use the findings to plan the next improvement; adding more hardware is only worthwhile when it answers another useful operational question.

PUT IT TO WORK

  • Review settings against current operations.
  • Update access, responders, and maintenance.
