In this guide
Separate one-time and recurring costs
Ask which charges cover hardware and installation and which cover connectivity, software access, or support. Check whether taxes, shipping, mounting accessories, and replacement batteries are included. A headline device price does not describe the full cost of putting the system to work.
Compare the same requirements
Give each provider the same asset count, reporting needs, routes, and support expectations. A low-frequency battery asset configuration and a powered fleet configuration may solve different problems. Compare the result you need rather than treating all subscriptions as interchangeable.
Ask about change and exit
Confirm what happens when a vehicle is replaced, a device fails, or the fleet grows. Ask about contract terms, cancellation, data exports, and whether hardware can be reused. Get those answers in the proposal so they do not become surprises later.
Include the people doing the work
Someone has to maintain the asset list, review alerts, replace batteries, and train new users. Decide which tasks stay with your team and which you want help with. SmartCore can quote the individual parts or a combined setup after understanding the requirement; this guide does not imply a fixed price or a guaranteed saving.
