Make the right assets available
Confirm which vehicles and equipment will be present and who can provide access. Share the inventory in advance, including unusual power or mounting constraints. If an asset cannot be available, plan a separate visit rather than substituting another without updating the records.
Agree what the installer may change
Review the proposed attachment or connection method and any owner restrictions. Clarify responsibility for work that needs a qualified trade or vehicle specialist. A site visit should not become an improvised decision about modifying valuable equipment.
Verify each asset before release
Check that the platform name matches the physical asset, the device reports from its final position, and any intended notification works. Record the installation photograph and device identifier. Resolve mismatches while the asset and installer are still available.
Finish with a practical handover
Have the actual users sign in and locate their assets. Show them report timestamps, relevant history, and how to contact support. Leave a short record of settings and responsibilities. The goal is a usable system with a clear owner, not simply a row of installed devices.
